How is break-even WACC price calculated on NEPSE share purchase?
Break-even WACC (Weighted Average Cost per Share) includes the actual purchase price of shares plus broker commission (0.24%–0.36%), SEBON fee (0.015%), and applicable DP charge divided by the total number of kittas. You must sell above this WACC price to avoid a loss.
What is the current Capital Gains Tax (CGT) rate for share trading in Nepal?
For individual investors trading listed shares in NEPSE, Capital Gains Tax is 7.5% for short-term holdings (≤365 days) and 5.0% for long-term holdings (>365 days) on the net capital gain.
What are the latest SEBON brokerage commission slabs in Nepal?
Effective Jestha 2081 (May 2024), SEBON revised broker commission rates: 0.36% up to Rs 50,000 (minimum Rs 10); 0.33% for Rs 50,000–5 Lakhs; 0.31% for Rs 5L–20L; 0.27% for Rs 20L–1 Crore; and 0.24% above Rs 1 Crore.
When is DP charge applied in NEPSE transactions?
By default, the Depository Participant (DP) charge of Rs 25 flat is applied per scrip on the sell/transfer side in MeroShare. Our calculator allows toggling DP charge on the buy side as well for brokers that charge it upfront.
